Volunteer at the Saturday Morning Fun Club

Saturday, October 30 at 10:00 AM

Saturday Mornings at our Temple are so very special. Most Shabbat mornings, our wonderful B’nai Mitzvah students are standing before their family and friends and leading the congregation in prayers, teaching what they learned, and reading from the Torah for the first time.

There are other sorts of learning & reading happening at the Temple during that time. We welcome recent refugees to learn – learn English, learn our culture, learn our history, and learn our way of life. We also welcome these families to laugh, play and sing, study, do crafts, play games, and do homework together. And we welcome & teach them to be a part of our community, as new friends and new Americans.

They are, like our ancestors, who not long ago were strangers in our country and to our way of life.
They have, like our families, who not long ago had the same wishes to live their lives free of war and persecution.
Just like our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents desired, they now desire to raise their children in freedom.

Our Most Recent Clean Up at Lenape Park

Throughout the year, Temple Emanu-El and the Tikkun Olam Committee volunteer their time to help clean up local parks in the area. We do this to help make our community a more beautiful and clean place to live. We will post our next opportunity to volunteer at a park clean up when it becomes available!
