Temple Emanu-El’s Youth Choir
Temple Emanu-El's youth choir- a group of singers in grades 2nd-7th who will add beautiful music and meaning to services and events in our community.
Our main goal is to bring fun and music to Jewish life at Temple Emanu-El and the greater Westfield area.
Throughout the year, we will sing at Kabbalat Shabbat services, concerts for Chanukah, in senior homes, Temple Emanu-El events and much more. We will focus on learning music, text, expression and fun! The choir community is a great place for kids to make friends and get to know Cantor Goldman!
TE East Street Band
Open to singers and instrumentalists, our Temple band meets monthly to jam, explore music, and enjoy the joy of playing together. Our ensemble already includes flute, piano, percussion, tuba, mandolin, violin, and guitar — and we’re always looking to add more! Participants may bring musical ideas ranging from Jewish melodies to pop favorites, with occasional pop-up performance opportunities. Basic music reading skills are helpful, and all are welcome to contribute their creativity and ruach to our musical community.
Temple Emanu-El’s Adult Choir
The soaring voices of our Temple Emanu-El choir have always elevated our prayer experiences, and we would love to add your voice to our ensemble. Our choir provides beautiful harmonies during Friday night services, High Holy Days, and select community gatherings throughout the year. Singers of all ages and experience are welcome. Tefilah Band (Grades 8–12)
Our Teen Tefilah Band offers students a meaningful way to stay musically engaged at Temple after their B'nai Mitzvah while inspiring our younger K–5 students. Band members help lead Sunday morning tefilah, accompany our younger singers, and serve as musical role models within our YLE community.
With guitar, bass, percussion, piano, and vocals, the band brings together students with a variety of musical talents. We rehearse approximately twice a month, providing opportunities to develop musicianship, song-leading, and leadership skills.
There's always room for another instrument or voice. The more musicians, the more ruach!
