Saints and Liars
Wednesday, January 14 at 7:30 PM
Please join as we welcome historian Debórah Dwork, whose powerful new book Saints and Liars tells the untold stories of courageous American aid workers who, long before the United States entered World War II, risked everything to rescue refugees from Nazi persecution.
Through painstaking research in letters, diaries, and archival documents, Dwork brings to life five rescue missions across five cities — Prague, Vilna, Shanghai, Marseille, and Lisbon. Her narrative centers on individuals affiliated with Quaker, Unitarian, and Jewish relief organizations who faced shifting political landscapes, moral quandaries, and even internal conflict as they defied Nazi tyranny.
Books are available to purchase for $18. Please register.
